Congratulations!  That must have been quite an experience witnessing a bear fight!  I really like your bow!

Thanks everybody, this was an awesome hunt, I really, really have taken a liking to bear hunting! Wisconsin takes about 7 or 8 years to get a tag in the good bear areas but I will be going a few more times before my WI tags comes around again, if I could chose bear hunting or deer hunting, bear would be my fist choice, they are not an easy critter as some may think. I have not sat so still for hours on end as I have for 12 days bear hunting, unreal! I'm still stoked!!!!!!!

The bow was made for me by John MacDonald of Big River Bows, with a little help from our buddy kennyM and his Cocobolo for the handle, Osage everything else except for the Boo limb cores, it is Johns replica of a 1959 Bear Kodiak, he made it 2 weeks before the Bear season opened, I tuned it in about 50 arrows and was dealing death!!!!!!!!! :-)

Well Done Joe.  I was just thinking how your bear hunt was shaping up!

Congrats its a fine bear!

BTW, I disagree with everyone else.  That is one disgusting looking bow.  Best you box it  up and send it to me to escape years of future ridicule   ;)      :p
Thanks Charlie....but...Box it up?? Come get it brother!!!!!!!!!!!    :knothead:

Careful what you wish for.  What an awesome hunt!  I will be back one of these days.

This year I am hunting with a 59 Rep from John also.

Very nice bear Joe, I got a bear in 2011 and looking forward to my next tag. Hope it does not take 9 years again. Charlie will be home again as he was home twice this year. His next trip we should visit and shoot. I have a 59 takedown from John also, One of my favorite bows, will be using it this year for deer. Plan was to use it in AK for bear, but snow and weather changed that plan. Congrats on a very nice bear and thank you for sharing the story.
