This post was a pleasant surprise to me.  That grouse hunting took place in BC, Canada a few years ago while I was on a moose hunt with Michael Schneider.  Believe it or not, I had a lot more footage of grouse shooting that I did'nt even use when I edited that piece for the "Moose Country" DVD.  Grouse hunting was great fun!  Not as "serious" as big game hunting.  Glad you enjoyed it.

RedShaft

I enjoy watching small game hunting as much as anything. Mostly cause of the laid back fun attitude and all the shots.

Darryl, there ya go. You and Denny can make a small game video!! That be fun!

Grouse are making a huge come back in my part of the Catskills, although I didn't get a chance to get after them this year.

It's been a few years, but this bird made really good dinner in elk camp. Grouse have been hard to come by where I hunt in the last several years, but they are great fun and great eating.

If you don't like cops, next time you need help, call Al Sharpton

I like the idea of a Tradgand Grouse hunt gathering.  Wonder where the best hunting would be for them.  Obviously BC would be on the list.

Nothing like the sound of an arrow skipping on the road.
Nice video

Many years ago my late brother and I got into a bunch of them while on a Montana elk hunt. We named the spot massacre point.

They are real tasty fried in butter with salt and pepper... or just broiled on the end of sharp sticks.

Great video, thanks for posting.

After watching that, I'd pay for a 4 day archery grouse hunt...that looked like a great time.

Sean B...glad to hear that,..I didn't see one this year in Rockland county but maybe it's just a matter of time. I had a blast in my youth chasing them either with a my father's old double or my recurve.

Funny to see this back up. Don't forget spring brings lots of fun opportunities.. Turkey, frogs, carp, hogs, and groundhog.
