A friend of my nephew, was bowhunting his first year and had the shot of lifetime! He was hunting that morning when he saw a yote circle downwind. When he looked to see what the yote was after and he saw these two bucks locked up. The one buck had been carrying the dead buck for days. He climbed down out the tree and got within 20 yrds of the exhausted buck. You can see in his picture he held it together and made a good shot. Both bucks were 10 pnts. the dead buck was the bigger of the two.

That's unbelievable.  Goes to show how cruel Mother Nature can be.

That's one of the coolest things i've ever seen. I've heard of it,but never seen it.

Although I don't think I would have shot him it sure would have been something to see. Great picture for sure, mother nature can be very mean sometimes.

CoachBGriff

That is nature...both deer would have likely ended up dead, so it's good to see that someone was able to harvest the meat off of the live animal.
For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

Nice that he ended the live deers suffering , and got some use of it. Better than the coyotes eating on him while he was alive. Never seen locked up deer , but it is awsomw. Congrats to him. .  Roy
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

looks like it has been dead for some time. be terrible having to drag that around. i would feel a little funny shooting that buck also but who know if you could have even got them apart safely. given the situation im sure he made the right decision.

Only way to have gotten them apart was probably with a saw .......... AND may have been risky at that. Your's was best solution. She's not mean .......... just the way of Nature.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

He did right by shooting, as far along as the dead bucks looks, the second one was dead, but just didn't know it yet.....

Once in a lifetime, and I bet he is glad, cause I bet it smelled HORRIBLE!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
