Getting small diameter carbons to fit quiver

Has anybody out there come out with an adequate way to get the micro-diameter carbon arrows work with the old style Bear quivers...??? I put a nice Bear spring-arm quiver on my 67 1/2 Super-K and proceeded to snap 6 Beaman Woodgrain MFX's into the rubber holders and to my dismay, they are tooo loose!!! They hold my tapered cedars just FINE , but those carbon woodies just shoot too darn well..!! I feel like I'm mixing apples and oranges where wisemen fear to tread, but I haven't given up on it. I hunt with the carbons and I would like this traditional set-up to work for me....HELP..! Got any ideas?????.....Many thanx...John

Not saying this is an elegant way of solving this problem but it is an easy fix.

Cut small pieces 1/4"x3/4" supple leather, position it over the arrow groove and depress your shafts into the groove forcing it to the bottom of the groove.  The leather will, of course, wrap tightly around the shaft making it perfectly snug.  

They hold really well but the leather does come out when you remove the shaft (sometimes).  Good for stand hunting when you only remove one arrow.  You can save the leather if conscience of it but if stumping or other, you likely lose your leather strip in haste.  

I have gone whole seasons w/o losing my leather gripper strips

Well Kris...that's certainly a start....thanx...! Was hoping for a more permanent solution....but as the old saying goes....beggers and choosers....!May try it for now......john

Go to the drug store and get some of the very small rubber bands that (I think) are used with teeth braces.

Twist one around one side or both of the arrow holding prongs and you can make it fit any size arrow.

saw a post on here the other day and the guy put #10
o-rings on to solve that. He put them so two arrow slots shared one o- ring. Hope that makes sense. He had pictures. I think it was on here, but could of been one of the other forums.

my buddy uses rubber bands on his great northern quiver with carbons and has been using that method for years. he loves it. even though you can buy a replacement carbon holder he still prefers the rubber bands.

A friend of mine just posted on the local site where he took the gripper off , and dipped into some kind of liquid rubber. I forget what it's called, but quick google search ought to find it.

Rubber bands or O-rings. I have used small strips of electrical tape wrapped around the teeth too. Time consuming but something I had in the house already and working to this day.

Had a buddy took the grippers off a mini boa quiver and dipped it in boiling water,  the took needle nose vise grips and squeeze the openings together.  I never tried it but it worked for him well he packed that quiver with mfx's in it for a couple years.

I added a few drops of super glue on the inside of the rubber gripers with no arrow in of course and let the glue dry... IT gave the quiver a little more size and my arrows fit perfectly lasted all of deer season and turkey season I just no re did the quiver last week.

O-ring or rubberband is the easiest method for taking up the space when using smaller diameter shafts.  When ready to go back to larger shafts, then just remove...quick and simple.

Just fixed mine ala German Ridge style...which it is..The original gripper stretched due to woodies
.Added a piece of vinyl flooring(any stiff piece of foam would work)parallel to arrow holes.Let it stick out into holes just a tad.Experiment on how much according to shaft size.As long as you have some narrow opening left,it the "add on" will take up the slack.German Ridge has neatest little grippers that hold the 2 together but  weatherstrip glues would work.
A picture would help but have no way to do it.
Like the O ring idea also.

Have run into this problem before and this fix worked and worked well.  

Buy a tube of out door GOOP.  Use a tooth pick to put a heavy coating around the inside of the gripper.  

When it dries you've just reduced the diameter of the grip area and now your arrows will be held tight.  It's a permanent fix too.

Going to try the "goop" method, I believe. Althougj Im told there is an aftermarket replacement set of grippers for this 1968 springarm...??? Looking there first....thx for all the ideas....john

Guys...thx for all the suggestions.....bot the small "O" rings and bands wont work here. A Bear spring arm has a solid rubber gripper wirh five detents cut into  it...a band wont affect all five arrows....only the two on the ends..!

jackdaw,I believe Bob York made or makes replacement grippers,not sure if there is a carbon version.You need an email address.I couldn't find one.If you haven't,I would post this in the Trad History forum.Those guys know Bear equipment.
