Looks like the snake chaps dont protect your feet though. Down here snakes are out ALL YEAR. Ive seen rattlers out in Jan and February. If it warms up enough, which it does down here, they will be out.
3 years ago I decided I will not hunt without my snake boots.

I can post how my arm STILL looks nearly twenty years after being bitten by a pygmy rattler, if someone wants.  It ought to be incentive enough.

I'm looking for a pair that are lightweight-with my leg problems, I can't tote heavy boots around well.

If anyone is interested, I'm pretty impressed so far with LaCrosses' Alpha Mudlite Realtree® APG® Snake Boots.

Light, comfortable, totally waterproof.

Haven't had to snake "test" 'em yet, but I think they'll pass.   :)

I have a pair of Game Winner snake boots. They are not heavy imo.
Might try a pair to see how they will work for you.

I guess once you have been bit or have first hand experience with someone getting bit your more willing to wear snake boots.

I live in snake country and I know that alot of guys down here wear the Chip. boots.

I have had run ins with rattlers several time and my heart always skips a beat when that happens but it is rare. I don't like any of the current choices that we have for snake boots. The majority are too hot and noisey. When they can make a boot that is light weight and scent free I will consider them. For now I just try to watch my step. Chaps are worse in my opinon. I would only use chaps if I was bird hunting in thick brush.
