What arrows do you shoot?

Hi everyone! New guy here, and I'm wondering what type of arrows you use, homemade, wood, bamboo, carbon, etc.
The sporting good stores around here really only stock arrows for compounds, and have very limited traditional supplies and knowledge. So, I'm asking the "pros".

Aluminums mostly. 1916s and 1816s. I am not a pro, though!

No pro here either, unless you count beer drinkin'.
Welcome aboard and I'm a wood shooter myself.

Gold Tip 5575 for me. When I feel I wont miss and I have a good backstop, I'll pull out my Aluminum 2117s.

Mostly parallel cedar but also some hickory and some Douglas Fir. I have made a few but most are purchased commercially. I used to shoot aluminum and liked it, but it seems there's some thing special about wood arrows and Hill bows.

Normally Arrow Dynamic Trad Lites but, this year I'll be shooting Surewood shafts tipped with either Ribteks or Zwickey No Mercy's.

You should give Ted Fry at Raptor arcvhery a call. He's in Oregon and is great to talk to. I don't know how far he is from you, but might be worth a road trip.

My recommendation for woodies is Dave (Snag) of Wilderness Custom Arrows. Give him a ring. He is down in Eugene and a great guy to talk with.

I shoot a recurve ,specifically a Martin Hatfield which at my 27" draw pulls 62pounds. That bow will chew any spine arrow I throw at it.For the last year I ditched my carbons and switched to woodies.I was thrilled and shooting wood is addictive. That being said recently I started shooting Easton raider 55-70 carbon arrows. You will not find them on their website as they are made only for a big sporting goods retailer.I bought six last month and six again today for around 30$ after taxes. They come fletched with 4 " plastic vanes.I don't know why but they fly awesome out of my bow and I shoot from the self.go figure..
The only ones that I prefer more are the Easton fmj.But taking the price difference between the two it is the Raider that is the winner.

Aluminum out of my recurves - 2016, 2020, 2216 - depending on the particular bow.
Wood out of my HHA longbows and my sinew backed Ed Scott owl mesquite sinew backed bows - footed hexshafts from Whisperingwind arrows.

I really like the durability and consistency offered by carbon shafts. My favorites are without a doubt the Arrow Dynamics Traditionals.

Been loving Beman MFX Classic 500's and 600's. Only problem is I think they discontinued them. It's high time I switched to wood full time anyway.

GT 1535's and 3555's, when I retire and have the time for wood, I'll try them.
