I am wanting to make some socketed arrow heads, for some woodies. What size is the taper that you turn on the arrow? Does this question even make since?

If you are talking making arrow heads/points to mount to the end of arrows, then a 5 degree taper is what you're after. Diameter depends on arrow shaft size.

Sometimes a .38 brass casing (or steel) will fit over a flat faced shaft (11/32)so no taper necessary.

Not sure what you mean by "socketed arrowheads".
