If you can find a cold steel master hunter in Carbon 5 steel you will love it.  It's as good a steel as Randall 01 and 1/5 the price. [/qb][/QUOTE]

x3 Bought one many years ago, takes an edge, holds an edge.
Have a old Kershaw 1050 folder I'm right fond of too.

Like many of you all, I have used a multitude of knives over the last 30 years.  Last couple years I have found a company that to me and my experiance on whitetails, squirrels, fish and turkesys as well as bushcraft.  They are an American company with a LIFETIME warranty.  Esee Knives.  I plan on doing a full review in product section, when I get my camera fixed.  I have three of them the candiru, the Izulla 2 (both great neck knives and the Esee 3.  Feel free to message me with any questions or comments.

I really like my LaClair skinner. Had it a couple of years now. Great knife at an affordable price.

Hard to beat the Light my Fire, Mora collaboration for about $30.  Lightweight, great steel and fire starting all in one.
