I'm shooting 490 gr arrows out of my new bow.  48@28 Full length GT Trad 3555, std insert, 175 gr 3 blade VPA with 3 4" parabolic feathers.  Fly like darts!!  Will test them out on hogs in 3 weeks!

Bladepeek

Right now I have 3 different arrow set-ups for my various bows, but all come in between 9.7 - 10.2 GPP.
60" Bear Super K LH 40#@28
69" Matt Meacham LH 42@28
66" Swift Wing LH 35@28
54" Java Man Elk Heart LH 43@28
62"/58" RER LXR LH 44/40@28

RC

Usually around 525. shooting 47-50 lb bows. My last few critters have been killed with 475 out of the same bows. The 475 seems to shoot better. Seems I may have been bogging my bows down a bit. I dropped from 55-58 lbs and kept the same arrow weight fearing lack of penetration which has turned out not to be a problem. I put more focus on hitting them in the ribs than how much my arrow weighs these days.RC

"Hitting them in the ribs"....

Great answer...

Another for arrow weight might be,

Avoid Extremes..

Horserod

Launching 550 grs from a 40# Great Northern LB.  Whitetails are afraid to step out in the open in my huntin' area !!!!  Horserod

Bonebuster

RC mentioned "bogging" down your bow...Personally I think he is right....

My long time "go to" bow hits 73 lbs at my 29 1/2" draw, I keep my arrow weight under 800 grains, because any more it seems to "bog" it down.

Eichler has proven to me you don't need serious arrow weight mine shoot great! And hit hard I wouldn't be afraid to use my set up for every critter in North America id probably go to FMJ for moose though
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

was shooting 505 grain last year and 53# @ 29" ... just switched to left hand so im working my way up. was very happy with my setup and proved very effective for white tail.
-just add effort.

Thumper Dunker

No white tails here but my arrows are about 480gn For 55-60lb Bows. All my bows are hunting bows and all my arrows are hunting arrows when not hitting targets.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

I don't have a whitetail arrow per se but build an arrow geared toward the heaviest animal that I might encounter and that is elk.I sometimes sit over springs and anything could show up at any time-deer,bear,lion or elk.I also like to keep one weight and get used to that trajectory,so most of my arrows are 650-700 grs out of 53-55# bows.My favorite weight is about 13 GPP.

Shawn Leonard

All my arrows are hunting arrows from frogs to whitetails, I shoot around 9gpp. so mostly 460-475 grains! Shawn

TRADSTYK

This years set up is a bit heavier. 580 grains out of 52 pound longbow. I feel this will also be a deadly combo for Ohio bucks.
