For a recurve which is better a flemish twist or and endess loop or is it personnal preference?
Thanks

I had one endless loop, it was a great performing string, maybe negligible faster, but I think Flemish with padded loops is quieter. Takes a skosh longer for the Flemish to stretch in, so you have to watch your brace closer.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I ordered an endless loop 450 plus 10 strand by mistake. It worked awesome!

Byron Ferguson says flemish is quieter in his book "Become the Arrow".  I use flemish and like it, stretches a LITTLE at first.  I think endless loop is supposed to be a little faster? I have used Bear Paw and Stone Mountain Flemish, both good.  Never used SBD (custom hand made), but highly recommended by the "Flying Dutchman" here on Tradgang.  You're not gonna go wrong.  Happy New Year!
Maddog Mountaineer 57# and Prairie Predator 52# Wow!, Samick Sage 35 - 60#,  I'm learning.

Pretty much personal preference. I believe you've got more adjustment with flemish. I agree with the above, they probably stretch a bit more. I can't tell if they're quieter or not, and I most certainly can't see if they're faster or slower.

I like an endless loop with my dacron bows, but prefer a flemish twist for my low stretch strings.I will say I put on an endless loop Angel Majesty with a pair of cat whiskers on a Harrison HSS,and it was a quiet string.Just as quiet a my other longbows with a flemish twist FF type string.

I call it a "Ford/Chevy/Dodge" type question--which is better depends on who you ask.

Look around enough, you'll find "answers" that pretty well go from one end to the other.

Properly made, the differences are minimal.  I make both and shoot both--either one will do the job just fine.  The primary difference is the the variable behind the bow.

Chad do you have any input on durability of endless compared to flemish strings/?

Thanks, God bless you all and Happy New Year , Steve

Equally well made, they should last pretty much the same.  I've had reports of flemish strings lasting 4-5 years...but I don't reccomend keeping any string that long if you are shooting on a regular basis.
