Hello Gang, well today I was pacing back and forth all day hoping the trusty USPS would get the Misty Dawn into me.  As luck would have it, she arrived at 3.  I ordered a Vixen at the end of November and after getting it a couple weeks later I knew I was a Berry bow convert so I went ahead and ordered a Misty Dawn on the 18th and James had the Misty Dawn done on the 21st!!! BUT i was leaving for KY so I had him hold off on mailing it untill Wednesday.

She is 68" 50@27 Red elm core with Yew back and belly under clear glass.  Bolivian rosewood riser.  For the first time I have a reflexed (vixen) and string follow (misty dawn) in the same specs so I can accurately compare the two styles.

This is just my preliminary review because I am shooting it without silencers or an actual nock yet, i have electrical tape at 1/2" above center right now. The Misty Dawn is a very smooth bow to draw, and feels much lighter than she actually is.  Excellent cast from her and she is shooting the exact same arrows that I have tuned for the Vixen without a lick of difference in spine or trajectory.  Virtually no hand shock what so ever, and the belly trap on this bow has to be seen to believe.  Fit and Finish are immaculate as one would expect from James.

The cores are very deep on this bow and it just screams classic longbow look .   Now the magic in this bow for me really shines in the way James makes his straight grip .  The only way I can think to describe it is a race track grip BUT the sides of the grip just under the shelf have almost a concave like indention that seats the hand perfect every time without thought.  The Vixen and Misty Dawn both have this grip and without looking id be hard pressed to tell the difference.  I have James make my grips 2" deep, 4 1/8th long and its wonderful.

Now enough of my black and white words and on to some pics.
Im getting stoked here

Brian, that Yew is jsut so FINE!!  I get crazy over YEW, and that is some beautiful stuff.

About the hunt, I shot a 253 pound boar ... with my Shrew Hill of course.  Doug Fir shafts and 125 Ace head.  It goes to the locker Monday morning, it is skinned and dressed already ... can't wait to eat some bacon!

Glad you like your new bow Brian, shame it's shooting so inaccurately for you right now. I'm sure you'll get it dialled in though.... ;-) lol.

Nice shooting!
