Got a couple of new to me BJ Buff's coming. Wondering what the stock strings are. Anybody change them out for something else,if so what and why?
Thanks

huntingarcher

Hey David,I think BigJims strings are 14 or 16 strand D-97.I always change the strings on all my bows to a 8 strand D-10,they always shoot quieter and makes them a little more snappy.

The bigjim buffs I have or had shoot great with either string.

have sbd string on my big jim 62" 58# @28 makes it nice and quiet with hush puppies.

I use 18 strand fast flite plus. You should have no problem making them very quiet. I have used skinny strings and strings of other material and have no problem if you do, just have never noticed any advantage to them.

thanks, bigjim
