Wondering how many shoot Jerry Hill longbows?
From what ive seen, there are those who likem, and those who dont with not much gray area in between,
I happen to fall into the likem crew myself.
I just picked this one up, in a trade from a fine gentleman here on the gang, 70" 70Lb Jerry Hill Grand Slam. Classic style, and a sweet shooter.   [/IMG]

I like my wildcat deluxe a lot.  I am just learning to shoot non-wheeled bows, but this hits where I am looking.

I had a Jerry Hill Stalker 68" 50# @ 28". One of the nicest Hill style bows I ever had, if it had been just a bit lighter I would still have it. All that I heard that was bad about them was a lie! Mine had a slight dished grip, was a joy to shoot!

I do have an offer for a like-brand-new JH Wildcat 68" 68@29.5. Straight grip. Shot it the other day - wow! Never shot a HH bamboo LB. Would be interesting to hear about the performance differences...

I have a lonesome dove.  I shoot it well, its very quite, it does have a bit of shock but not as much as people advertise.  I like mine.

My friend has been using his all season. I also like shooting it. I love the way it feels  and shoots.

.... and she shoots good too: As I posted on the "Hill thread" a couple of weeks ago: This is about how a Wapiti hunt in Northern Germany looks like   ;)  . My shot of the day at 40 yards downhill slope. With my Jerry Hill and my Sunset Hill Back quiver (love it!!)

More specs on the Stalker:
Riser is 15" long. Limbs at Fadeout 1" wide. Less than 1/2 an inch at nocks. Grip is dished and has a "Racetrack" shape, i.e. very narrow - others call it "Hatchet" or "Wedge-style" as far as I know. Does anybody know when Jerry stopped building bows? 2003??

Very nice Berliner! That ole Wildcat has some great character in the wood. Nice job on the pics as well.

These are nice looking bows, have to give them a shot someday. How come Jerry stopped making them?

I had a nice Jerry Hill deluxe that came with a JH slip on bow case.

It was a pretty bow and it did shoot pretty well but it had a lot of handshock compared to my HH bows.

I ended up selling it.

Well, I guess I'm the oddball here.  I had a 68" 70@28 Wildcat ll, if I remember correctly, that was the hurtingest bow I ever shot.  I could manage to shoot it about a dozen times before my bowhand went numb.  No one else would shoot it more than once.  I grew up shooting longbows and shot other Hill style bows while I owned the Wildcat and had no problems.  I have 6 or so Hill style bows now and enjoy shooting them.  I was never so glad to find a new zip code for a bow!!!

Thanks everyone!
Rossco-
As far as I know Jerry stopped building bows due to some health problems. This has been a topic on the Hill thread as well and there are some of the longtimers (Ron LaClair....)who could give an answer. Hope Jerry is good spirits these days.

The guys who are saying the J hills have more handshock than others are 100% correct. Every J hill I have shot has had more than any other Hill bow it just doesn't bother me, and they shoot good for me.
