Gorgeos buck, what an awesome rack. Good for you!
This was a good plug for Kirk too, because I'm sure everyone reading this is eyeballing that beauty of a bow!

Thanks folks. I enjoyed sharing the story with you.  Its amazing how many little things occur during a bowhunting encounter.

You might notice I have two different arrows in the pictures?  The MFX with blue and orange feathers is tipped with a single-bevel, 2-blade Helix (125 grain + 100 grain insert). That is my primary arrow and what all my "modern" recurve deer have been taken with.

The MFX with the green barred fletching is a Left Helical arrow and the RHT-bladed Helix heads aren't suited for it. So, I put a 175 grain VPA (3-blade) on that arrow. Had I known this buck would have been in the close shooting window I would have had the VPA in place, just to try that one.

I bought the bow, the quiver, and broadheads from Trad Gang sponsors. I also learned how to tie those neat Whisker balls on the string from the trad ganger's in Hawaii (their video is great!).

Yes, Kirk I like the bow very much!

I've included a picture showing how I sometimes have a video camera set up.  I had the camera set up during this hunt but on the wrong side of the tree to get the action.

Roy,

I remember that bow build...and how you had to "talk" Kirk into that li'l black plastic compass! LOL

Congratulations!!! I wish I could introduce my Big Foot to a deer! Season's over and was a bust for the most part! Never had a shot opportunity but on illegal spikes and forkies... I was covered in them!  KS is the place it looks!

I'd have likely stroked out seeing that big rascal!

Very well done!!

Yep, and that Compass was Key.....I think....surely it helped....?

I know this, every time I look at that compass I think of Mr. Bear. That can be nothing but a good thing!  Of course as far as that bow goes Kirk gets top billing with me.

Doc Nock

Whatever the source of the mojo, the bow did it's part and so did YOU!

Excellent all around!

Very nice! The genuine happiness expressed on your face in the pic says it all.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.
