Nice job.  Always a tough decision to stop a deer or not.  I missed one because I stopped her and she jumped the string.  Congrats on making the smart choice on the follow up.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Awesome job Matt, way to hang in there tracking.  And no need to apologize for long stories, the stories and photos are what makes sharing the hunt so appealing!  Congrats!

Some fine eating right there!!! Congratulations on the first and on a good, honest story instead of I hit him a bit further back than I wanted too. You come right out and say you messed up. How refreshing and honest!!!! I applaud you and respect you a lot for doing that. Beautiful buck and glad you got him.

God bless you, Steve

Awesome job congrats on the first buck.  That one you will remember for a long time.  I have to admit I still learn things every time I shoot at one good or bad.  HAHA

Congrats - Truth is it happens and there is nothing more rewarding than recovering a miss hit or a hit you did not intend to make.

On a side note it you put those vibration dampeners at the fades and not out by the limb tips you get nearly the same effect w/o loosing the KE from the added weight.
