Hey Art,
I was hoping to convince you with a "success pic" but no luck this afternoon.   ;)

If you wanted to try one or the other first, South does have a "test drive" option.  All it'll cost is the price of shipping.

Ryan Sanpei

Agreed!  The ebony footed risers are sweet!

Few more pics from the field.

We didn't end up with any meat for the smoker, but we did get some guava for the family.  Although, I don't think South designed the static tips for picking fruit.    :D

Those hooks on the static should be perfect for picking fruit! What kind of tree is that mystical looking one? I need a bow made from that! I can't wait to see some success pics and to hear what NEW ideas are about to come out of Stalker Custom Bows!

Thanks Ed!

Mike,
That's one type of guava tree.  It's a waiawi, a strawberry guava.  The guys here make selfbows from it.  I've made a few in the past.

Thanks Andrew,
BTW those Crispi boots performed awesome in the muddy hills yesterday!

Art,
Our hunting areas are dwindling fast.  We're losing hunting areas to environmentalist and now competing with dog and rifle hunters all in the same hunting areas.  I'd be lucky to see one in the next few trips.  Won't stop me from trying though.  Didn't harvest any hearts, but may go back in the future.  Bamboo everywhere.....

Aloha!

thats what I missed most about the Islands..the vast amount of food you can get if you look..didnt realize you was losing ground there..I agree the enviromentalist are no help and the competion between the other hunters was so bad..wasnt like that when I lived there..you are always welcome to come stateside and hunt with me anytime and Im sure every member here would be happy to have you as well  :)

Thanks for the invite Art.  Much appreciated!

Here's an old pic I dug up for you and Mike.  It's the only pic I have left of my last "silk backed" guava bow.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.
