Lucas,
The OD is just slightly larger than the standard Axis,  I'm assuming due the wood finish.

Juan,
I'm thinking so.  Staci's standard Axis shafts are 7.2 gpi, these are 7.9 gpi

Rick,
She's shooting a 56" static with the hybrid handle.  It's 37lbs @ 25".

They sound like and look just like a Beman MFX Classic.

sawtoothscream

might need to buy some of those for the longbow  :)
- Hunterbow 58"  47# @26"
-bear kodiak 60"  45# at 28"

Love the Old School look.Don't know much about carbons,Ball park for a 55-60# bow @28" and around 200gr. up front would any one know the approx. total arrow weight,Just asking. Thanks Fellas.

Steve,
If you were going to shoot a similar style shaft with a standard insert, you'll get about 525-550gr. It's a rough estimate of a 29" shaft assuming that's about the length you're shooting with a 28" draw. Still many variables though.

Tell me they saw the light and make it in a .450 spine too  :D

I have no idea how to do that Facebook thingy, but it looks like they missed the boat if they are not Full Metal Jackets.  Is there ANY difference in the to a MFX Classic?

I was really, REALLY hoping to see a wood grained "Legacy" FMJ    :(

All it is a Beman Classic MFX 10.4 gpi and the Easton Axis is 9.4gpi that is a 400 spine arrow for both arrows. Its not new just a new name on it and give guys a trad look. It will have the N-Fused carbon is my guess making it a pricy arrow. Its a better looking arrow for sure I will be sure to get some for my archery shop and do some fancy splicing and cresting !

I tried the Beeman MFX and didn't like the flight as compared to a front loaded Axis with the same total arrow weight.  Axis is the finest carbon I've used including Blackhawk Vapor Carbon and Carbonwood, Grizzly Stiks, Arrow Dynamic Traditional and Trad Lite and the Beeman MFX.  The Axis shaft has been consistant for me over the years and I can't tell any difference in flight between newer and older versions.  The woodgrain is nice, but I've never had a problem with just dressing up the plain black colored shaft with nice wraps and barred feathers.

Thanks Ryan,Clears things up a little. To many years using Woodies and aluminum.
For the larger stuff we hunt up here is it possible to build these up to around 650gr. without getting to crazy with to much FOC ?

Steve,  would a 100gr insert and a 200gr point be too much FOC for you?  You could also use weight tubes too. There are a couple different carbon arrows with a little higher gpi.

My friend and I were playing around with some heavy arrows earlier this year.  We were getting some great flight with heavy inserts and tips ranging from 200-300gr, given the correct spine.

So what you're really saying is...  "It's pretty much the same thing except it's one grain per inch lighter, and it still uses an X nock which we all know is the root of all evil in the universe, oh but there's a slight technical difference that you wont ever notice.  Oh and its going to cost more money which make you cooler than the other guy"

That's all great, but is it going to be available in a .450 spine?

I'm told to look for TWO new Easton arrow models designed for recurve and longbow shooters.

Roy, PM me if you would.  If they are coming out with the Legacy FMJs That I have been asking for, I am going to have to start selling stuff because I am buying 10 dozen of each 340 and 500s!

The new axis traditional are at 3Rivers, just came in today.  Haven't made it to the website but will be there soon. They look really sharp. dino
