Gettin ready to go sit another new stand, saw a bruiser across the creek from it last weekend.....  :bigsmyl:    :archer2:

Killdeer

This is a rhetorical question, right?

Killdeer
Desperately seeking fawns...
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Possum Head

Perhaps one day someone will be glad you let him pass. That's two mighty fine backstraps walkin off! What's your guess 180- 190lbs.?

K.S.TRAPPER

Don't worry Kenny there's always somebody crazier, I've already passed a few quite a bit bigger then him so your doing good. Big ol body and nice deer though hope I get to see him in a couple weeks.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

It's interesting how different areas produce such massively different animals.  In alberta we wouldn't look twice at that deer but in other areas it 's truly a trophy, I've shot smaller deer but it was the last 5 minutes of the season and I thought there might not be enough time to get a better one    :D

beaver#1

Yep. That would be considered a great trophy even for the antler hunters around here. Looks like he would fill I freezer pretty dang good.

You're a better man than I Gunga Din!!!!

From the perspective of hunting heavily pressured public land in north Texas,  yes you're completely bonkers, but if you're having fun,  that's all that really matters.

That buck should be thanking his lucky stars that he lives in your woods and not mine!!

I'll have to double amen that statement.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

Well, yes, you probably are nuts, however, I resemble that remark. I've let some like that walk too. Let me tell you though, tag soup is kind of tasteless stuff, LOL!

He is OK I guess:) Hang in there Kenny, it's early yet..

Over the years I have had many regrets.. I don't believe any of them were for a deer I let walk.

Shook my head and wondered why on some, but in the end there has never been a regret..

I would love to get a chance to miss a buck like that!
Keep having fun.  And to answer your question...as we say around here " Crazy as a road lizard!"

LOL,No one ever said you had to shoot a deer just because you were hunting,Your enjoying the journey my friend and THATS what its all about.I've let many walk over the years.Just being in the vicinity and close enough you probably could have shot,at my age is good enough for me.Kudus to you my friend.

Kenny, no offense meant my friend, but i think you must have bumped your head on a low hanging limb on the walk in!   :bigsmyl:  That looks like a keeper to me!
All kidding aside, Good Luck! and hopefully the next buck will be the one youve been looking for.

toddster

Actually to me he looks like a mature Buck, just don't have the genetics for a bigger rack and/or he is on the downhill side.

kennym

Good to see I'm possibly not the only nutty one in the bunch!! LOL

Yep, he's old nuff, just ain't gonna be a jawdropper!!

DEATHMASTER

Nice body on him and the face is light also. You seem to get the monsters each year. He would have a hole if I see him.
Let us know when you get the big one.

Earl Jeff

NO NO your just fine.  :banghead:
