Good luck Ken.  This will be the first NY opener I have missed in 20 years... However, I did get to start 2 weeks ago down here, although I would much rather have the cooler NY weather.

Remember to look low. I got to worked up opening week and shot high on a doe because I was to busy checking behind her for others and by the time I was taking the shot I never got my eyes where they needed to be.

Good luck Ken and all. I will be out Friday evening & saturday. Had a really nice bear come in opening day @8:40 in the mornig. Tried to get cute and take some pictures before the shot. Well, at 50 yards I dropped the arrow tilting my bow around a limb. Arrow hit a branch on the way down and the bear turned and slowly walked away. MY BAD!!! No hero pics til after the deed is done from now on. He was a really nice one. Maybe I will get another opportunity. Good luck fellas.

Indian Lake is looking the best Ive seen in years, a lot of deer. Im gonna put some time in up there if I dont stumble onto a big one down here. I havent seen a good buck yet but I aint afraid to shoot a doe. Ive seen plenty of them down here. Looking like rain on Monday.

Going first thing in the AM. Blinds are all tuned up, I'm shooting well, just need the right opportunity to all come together. Maybe this will be the year on the mountain. A quick stop for coffee and me and the River Runner will be of to the North Woods.

The summer was quite hot, but has cooled of nicely now. The plus side is that bow season opened 9/8 and runs for 2 months down here, however no Sunday hunting at all unless you have private land to bowhunt only on.  I will eventually get some private land and that will be nice.  As seems every year when hunting season opens, I travel for work, have been in SC the last 2 weeks.  Oh well, a man's gotta work.

Good luck to all.
