Big Ed, figuring Cade was ready for a new bow, presented him with a beautiful brand new Leon Stewart longbow...

These two really have a great relationship!

Back in April while scouting turkey's I found a great spot for a stand for Cade. Only problem was, the main trail the stand would cover was a little too far away for Cade to shoot. Thinking I wanted to keep his shots @ 15yds and under, I knew I had to get the deer closer.

So I collected all the dead branches and sticks that were in the area, and built an angled wall of sorts to kinda ease the deer trail about 5yds. closer to the tree the stand would be in.

The trail was right alongside the big oak to the left...

The tree I picked for Cade's ladderstand...

You'll see later the results of the effort. Trail cam photos don't lie...

During the spring turkey season with baseball going full bore, he only got out with me once...

Thanks for taking us along, it was great seeing how Cade grew up. As a father of a new bowhunter I can relate 110%. That was a HUGE body buck, how much did he weigh?

No doubt Cade will be a true hunter. Best wishes for an enjoyable season. I will never forget my son's first bow hunt, his stupid dad let him climb a tree full of poison ivy! That evening he had a bobcat walk right under him and I saw it all. He didn't shot because he didn't know if it would be O.K.

Curt, it has been a pleasure over the years watching Cade grow up on the pages of TG. I'm sure his success as a hunter will rival your success as his father and mentor. Congrats to both of you. I'm looking forward to another "hero" shot of Cade this coming season.
