This is a perfect time to thank some very generous Trad Gangers.....

A couple months ago I put an add in the classifieds for some small clothing for Cade. I was willing to trade or buy anything I thought would work...

Those KOM wool pants, a KOM hat, and the Mossy Oak "hoodie"  were sent to Cade, for nothing, from "Cecil M"! Cade absolutely luvs them!!!

Ryan Steadman sent him a pile of great camo, and "Toddweezl" sent him a great pair of Predator pants as well.  All for nothing, just happy that someone would use them....

How awesome is that!!!  Thanx again fellas!!

TG'ers are the very best!

When my kids outgrow them....I'll pass them on the same way....

Sorry for the lack of updates.....

The afternoon of the opener was hot and we had to cut it a little short because I had to go to work...but Cade got his 1st shot a squirrel!

Getting ready to go in...
•

Big rub we walked by...
•

•

Cade drawing on the squirrel...
•

About 15yds, and just over it's head...
•

Again, no deer sighted from stand...but just as we were getting close to the truck I said to Cade....

"wouldn't it be something if we see a deer right by the truck"

....not 3 seconds later a deer snort blasted the evening silence and nearly scared Cade to death!!! He'd never heard a deer snort and had no idea what it was...

Cade, tell Dad to let you get in the top stand ! When Mason went with me I always put him in the top one. We always used climbers back then  though. Good luck bud and looking forward to the "rest of this story "......  :readit:

We went back out this morning to a spot about an hour away in Westchester County...which is a bowhunting only county south of where I live, actually not far from NYC.

It's a beautiful piece of property that I luv to hunt because I almost always see deer. I had high hopes and couldn't wait to get Cade there with me to hunt...

We got to the ladderstand just as the sky was starting to lighten. I climbed, set my stand, and then Cade came up and settled into the ladderstand...

Like I said, beautiful property...
•
•

Cade passing time on his Ipod...
•

A cool pic Cade took with his Ipod....
•

Staying loose
•

Dang it! No deer again!!!!!  Time to get down...
•

Cade retrieving his practice shot arrow he shot before he descended....
•

Some rubs, old and new, on the way out...
•

Again, a great time in the tree with my boy, but I'm starting to feel bad about the lack of deer...I even apologized to him about it...he said..."it's ok daddy, you don't have to say you're sorry, it's just good being out together"

He's right....
