I have a dangerous arrow addiction. I enjoy splicing, cutting feathers, and fletching in every color combo I can think of. I'm really into the Easton Legacy shafts and I find myself buying dozens of them just so I can have the pleasure of crafting a beautiful feathered arrow, even though I really don't need anymore. Anybody else have this same problem?

Mudd

I wish!!!

But.... I absolutely "HATE" making arrows!!

I doubt this is news on here though...lol

I am interested in crafting my own arrows, I too like easton legacys, I would like to see some pics of the arrows you are making

Here's a couple I did today. I'm especially proud of these ones because I cut the shapes myself with an exacting knife. The black arrow is an Easton Axis and the second is a four Fletch Easton Legacy. My next adventure will be creating.

I hate auto correct. What I meant to say was that my next adventure will be CRESTING and I cut the shapes with an EXACTO knife.

Are you using some kind of template to do the cutting? What's your proceedure, they look very precise.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Nice! four fletch arrows always look medieval
to me..

Nice work! I like doing my own arrows too, and I have way more than I'll ever need.

Ya, I made a template for the initial shape out of some thin fiber board and then on my cut mat I drew my final shape directly on the mat as a guide. The first ones are the same shape as the second but I added the corner cuts for clearance. Believe me Ive messed up a bunch and they're not all exactly the same necessarily, but the differences in my keepers are negligible. I also switch out to New blades often, so I don't try and cut with a dull blade.

@Cochise- that's exactly the look I was going for with the shape and colors of the feathers on that set of arrows.

@gonefishing600- my arrows or feathers? You think they're decent enough that people would buy them?

Thare1774

Here's a six Fletch flu flu I finished up today as well. I hand trimmed em from full length true flights and did em on my bitz jig. It was a ton of fun and they shoot perfect.

I build around 12-20 dozen a year. I build them because i like to but also sell a few.  If you like doing different feather shapes you should think about getting a feather burner. I bought one 2 years ago and love it.
