Need some help from you Hill guys!

A buddy of mine wants me to make a string for this hill style longbow he has. He told me it was found in a closet and is pretty old. In the following pic you can see all the markings on the bow.

Can somebody tell me what this bow is (I think the ML-14 is a model number maybe) and if it is fast flight string compatible?

Any help on this would be appreciated. I would hate to put a string on his bow that would hurt it.

Yep that's a Martin.  Had one back in the mid eighties.

Doubt that its ok for fast flight.  Think the first two numbers are the year.  Pretty bow. Had a bit of a thumpnas I recall.

Hope that helps. Eric

Yep, it's a Martin ML14. You should get a 65" dacron string,14 strand will be plenty. Start with a brace height of 6 1/2", and go up from there.

Good luck!
