I went about learning how to make my first arrows right. I have a friend that makes and sell some of the nicest arrows that I have ever seen (ask me for his info if you want to see them), and I finally had the chance to meet up with him, and make a dozen arrows for my bow. He picked up my bow, tested it a time or two, pulled out 3 arrows and said lets try these as a starting point. Well after I shot those he said lets go build some arrows. We spinded out the arrows to be 43 lbs and put 125 grain points on them, cut them to 28". I then with his help made these. I am very happy with the results and the way they fly. He also gave me some part gifts in the bow quiver.

Ask me about CTO.

They are bamboo, to go with my bamboo backed bow.

Giving of his time was the best part, I paid for the materials.

The black and white look great. It is a rather plain arrow, but I always choose function over prettiness.

How do you attach the nocks and points .....fill and taper?
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

DayTripper

Those are very nice arrows. I would like to see more of his works.

Yeah tapered both ends, they were small enough with thick enough walls that they did not have to filled. He makes self knocks that have to attach a wood to the end and the make the knocks from that. It was a great learning experience.
