A friend I work with recommended it to me. It is a Corps of engineers area that is bow only.

I keep a sailboat at Redbud Marina and I sail up there occasionally.      Don't know anything about the hunting on it but I'd bet it gets a lot of attention once the rifle season starts.

It is almost a mile across and most people wont walk more than a few hundred yards to hunt. I was thinking of mountain biking to the far side to get away from the crowds.

There is a lot of public land around Oolagah Lake to hunt according to the corps of engineers maps.

It's archery and shotgun with pellets only on Goose Island. Haven't hunted it but would assume it gets quite a bit of pressure.

Ive never hunted on the island but I have spent a lot of time on the upper end of the lake.  There is some good hunting around Oologah but it is a popular destination.  Your idea of getting farther back in should be a good one from my experience.

I grew up on Oolagah lake, hunted Goose Island, many years.Lots of pressure in deer season, lots of rabbit hunters too.Go the second half of bow season, and you will have it all to yourself. If the lake is full, you will need a boat to get to it.Better places on the lake to hunt, although I've shot a few deer there over the years.
