The other day I ordered Chad's video, Doing the Twist so I can finally make a nice flemish string.  I would like to pick up some fast flight string material this weekend but I am unsure what to buy.  What would you all suggest?  Thanks!

Depends imo for a skinny string ultracam is the best stuff they made.  It is no longer made but you can still find it.  Its good enough that i bought numerous 1lb spools when i found out they where going to stop making it.
If you plain on making a 12 strand or above D97 is still a good choice at a good price.  You can make a skinny with D97 but you can have continued creep.

I really like Dynaflight 97 and 8125.

Dynaflight 10 was discontinued.

I'm partial to BCY materials--for a "skinny" string, 8190 works--it also works great for a more moderate sized string.  I like 8125 and Dynaflight '97 as well.

The best string I ever used in 30 plus years is astro flight by brownell. I think 8190 by bcy is about the thing

SaltyDawg

Ultra Cam is hands down the best I've ever used, but the BCY 8190 & the Brownell XS2 are running it a real close second, and may even exceed my expectations of them.

My nod goes to the XS2, but either will do you fine.

Keep the strand count at around 14 with them, and you'll have a moderately skinny, well performing, and stable string.

P.S.
deadeyed - astroflight & d10 are comparable materials, both are of SK78 dyneema.
Neither come anywhere near being as good as the 8190, or XS2 which are both SK90 dyneema, and currently the best 100% dyneema material available.

One another vote here for Astro flight material.

Learn, practice and pass on "leave no trace" ethics, no matter where you hunt.

It's like bows, trucks, guns, etc.--obviously depends on who you ask.

With the better materials, how the string is made is going to make more difference than the material you make it from--just like the archer makes more difference than the brand of bow.

I like fast flight plus in a 16 strand string.

8 strands of XS2 will continue to creep for a very long time. You would be better off using 12 or 14 strands.
