Anyone use a 2 blade broadhead exclusively?  Pros/cons?  I'm new to trad. Hunting and i love how well two blades fly and how easy it is for me to sharpen them. I've got a pile of Zwickey heads that i love.  Anyone ever have any trouble with fat, hair, etc. Clogging up a hole?

m midd

I have killed deer and turkey both with 2 blades and had no issues at all.. I do have some  3 blades but i havent taken a shot with them yet.. As long as its sharp and put it in the right spot it will do the trick, it doesnt matter if its 2,3 or 4 blade.

Possum Head

Lots of guys here fill their freezer each year with two blades. But as m midd said if it dont shave dont shoot. When my three blades are gone I intend to go 2-blade for a season.

I took two deer last year with Magnus 150 stinger two blade and going hog hunting next week with the new Grizzlies single bevel.

I have used mostly 2 blades  for 35 yrs.Shot a few three blades but always went back to the two blades.I have harvested well over a hundred deer and many other big game with Zwickey's and Magnus with no problem. If they are very sharp your good.If you have a bunch and they shoot good,go out and have fun.

This will be my first season (spring turkey opens April 16th for archery!!!) using trad equipment, and am going to use a Simmons Treeshark 190 grain 2 blade. I will let you know how it goes, tuned my arrows a little bit, have been real busy but am going to shoot them this evening before doing a 3D with my compound only buddy. Still haven't been able to sell my compound, and just for fun shot the Tree shark out if it, scary how well they flew. Not I just need to figure out which tool/tools to buy to sharpen them! Good luck on your trad journey, hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!

2 blades work great, keep em sharp like you would any broadhead. Should be able to shave hair on your arm.

That confidence you have in them is the key.

It depends on what you hunt. I hunt pigs and elk, I'm old and my bows are not powerful, so a two blade is essential and more than adequate for my hunting. Make sure the blade takes hair off a dry arm and  only take shots you really like. My freezers are full pretty much all the time.   :archer2:

Met Zwickey's son, who is over 80, at the Wisconsin Deer And Turkey Classic. What a great guy with a legendary product.

I want to try some Tusker Deltas this season, have used Zwickey in the past but I need a 160 gr glue on.

I can't wait to get my 160 grain Kodiaks from Bill Dunn! I will either be hunting with the Grizzly or Kodiak head this year!

I also met Zwickey's son at the Ohio deer and turkey show. I have used many Zwickey 2 blade broadheads in the past and plan on more in the future. I have recently purchased the Cliff Zwickey broadhead. Old design from back in the 30's that has been brought back. I truely love how the barbed 2 blade looks on my arrows. Plus they fly great for me. Can't go wrong with a 2 blade in my opinion.

I like them because they work and they're deadly. Make sure they're sharp!

Count me in the two blade camp.  I have used Bear's, Magnus, Zwickey, Zephyr, and currently Eclipse.

Nothing against three blade, just don't prefer them.

Sharp and in the right place will lead to a happy ending.  No matter the number of blades.

But I have to admit that those VPA's are interesting.

Always used 3 blades with my compounds, but I'm leaning heavily toward the zwickey eskimos for my soon to be longbow. Although, I do have several old bear razorheads somewhere that I could try.

Like Bjorn because of age and injuries I shoot light equipment and two blades for the most part. I like the idea of a chance at two wholes  :)
