I know I am! Next month or so and we'll know on new mexico and montana. Good lord its like christmas, although new mexico is more like the grinch here lol...

Anyone else ready for some good news?/
is it September yet??

old_goat2

nah, I don't really get excited about the draw, do get really excited about the season opening. I know I'm going somewhere, if I don't get my first choice I know I'll get my second choice and if for some weird reason I don't get that, I know some good OTC areas. I'm just praying my gal/hunting partner's shoulder heals up in time for her to hunt.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I do lok forward to the draws.  I also know that I'll hunt elk somewhere, God willing, but I sure do dream of a Gila unit tag one of these years!  I have a plan B, C, and D if needed though  ;)

This will be the year my Son and I do a pack in DIY elk hunt together. I'm excited. My wife and I will tow the camper out and I'll get a basecamp set up about 8 miles in. Then my Son will fly out at some point during the season and hunt with me for about 10 days.

Woo Hoo!!!!

Our draw is sure...

We are hunting Utah OTC this year............we did put in for points though. I am very excited for the hunt and the camaraderie!

I put in for New Mexico unit 16 in the Gila. On one hand Im really excited and hope to get drawn but on the other hand Im little worried about all the prep that has to happen If I get drawn. I will really need to get in shape. Get my horses ready. I guess thats all part of the fun.

Good luck to everyone.

No Az Elk tag for me my cc was not hit. So on to the wait for for a couple of other areas. I hear your pain steadman our draw wait time is crazy.

Canyon

My Credit Card was hit in AZ but it is probably my son's tag. Which is great as my best friend Russ Clagett's card was also hit. That means I will be camp host to my two favorite soldiers for an AZ Elk hunt. I've been dreaming of having the three of us in Elk camp together since my son first started drawing a bow.

I am already planning the meals but still waiting on AZ G&F to tell me which unit we are in.

Not too excited. Been putting in for 19 years in Colorado and if I hadn't messed up my application twice I could have drawn a tag by now. Instead I still have another year or two to wait.

I get excited every year, and continue to contribute to Wyoming Game and Fish without depleting the elk population. Maybe this year will be different       .

I find it hard to get too excited since I could hardly draw a guaranteed tag.  But as soon as I see I drew a tag its game on!

Heck, just found a 156 shed and will be going OTC this year. Very fired up for elk and this is my first year longbow hunting.

Keeping my fingers crossed for NM, but not holding my breath. If all else fails, off to CO or Idaho for some OTC-style madness

Have to wait until middle of JUNE here in Oregon...why?? Who knows. I think they just like to torture us.

Only put in for one area here in MT. Pretty sure I won't draw it. Might actually be mad if I do since I'm moving to Ohio this summer for grad school. What I really need now is some good places to go hunting there... If by some miracle I did get drawn, I'd definitely have to get another job so I could come back here and hunt. As it is, I still might have to do that  :)
