I might add. For many folks, especially me, this decison of LB or Curve is one of the few easy archery decisions!  I have absolutely nothing against LB or those who shoot them.

I'll also admit I've shot only one LB. I have no doubt they are easier to quiet than a curve. I'm also certain they will shoot with the curve in every respect.

Now if I could only decide: FF or B50, Heavy Arrow or Fast Arrow, 2-blade or 3-blade, etc.

I own a few recurves and i enjoy shooting them on the range now and then, but my true love lies with the Hill style longbow. I love the simple lines, light weight, and the way they cast a heavy arrow.
They may not be as quick as a recurve, but they work well for me.   :campfire:

I tend to switch every 5 years or so for some reason, but I've killed more game with a longbow...

I started with recurves and may shoot them a touch better but I love my longbow.  I have a Kanati on order, so we'll see where that goes.

If I had to choose between a recurve and a true longbow I will take the recurve everytime and not feel the least bit of guilt. However I do like "hybrid" type bows and am currently shooting one. In my opinion there is not much difference between a "hybrid" and a recurve. But as far as the old hill style longbows....if you like them I say great!  But I'll pass.

Both, I shoot a recurve better, the romance of the longbow is stronger.  Just bought a hybrid and it seems to be pretty comfortable.  Recurve handle with the quiet longbow limbs.

I usually pick a bow in the spring and shoot it all summer/hunting season.  Last year was a longbow, year before a recurve etc.  This year I am hoping to use the hybrid or maybe the Grayling Green Super Kodiak I have on order.

I just stick to my effective ranges and all is good.

Recurve here. Started out with one, over 40 years ago and just stayed with one.

Night Wing

Recurve for me. The reason being, I'm not accurate enough with a longbow. Since I'm not accurate enough, I have no confidence in a longbow.

Recurve for me because I'm more accurate and confident with it than a longbow.  At some point I hope to become confident enough with a longbow to take advantage of it's inherent quietness, but until then it's a recurve all the way.

Up a tree, 58" recurve or a 56" Kanati. On the ground, 62" mild r/d.

Once I learned the ways of the longbow there's no turning back !!

I didn't really alter my shooting style, just refined it and my longbows responded with great accuracy.. I'm hooked

Both have there place.....longbows are just nicer to carry, light and and graceful. Recurves a cool also! That's why I have both.....   :biglaugh:
