Wow, how amazingly cool is that!!! With the way this thing is coming together it might be easier to be a one-bow guy afterall! It's amazing how whippy they look at this point for being potentially 55# limbs!

12 strand FF yellow/black sounds perfect! I don't shoot less than that because of the very thin gloves I shoot. I'll play with 12-16 on this bow when I get it to see where it likes to be the best. I will also pad the loops to compliment the grooves however you carve them.

A sincere thank you for shooting that video! That's about the coolest thing I've seen on tradgang, but I may be just a touch partial  :)

Kirk nice video but you must stop all bow production now and clean your shop, and also turn down that load rock and roll music so you can here your phone ring !!!!!!!. JUST JOKING WITH YA BRO KEEP UP THE HARD WORK SO THERE T/Gers will have there new toys to play with.    :bigsmyl:

I know Pete, it's really exciting! I can't wait to see what yours comes out looking like! Sometimes "less is more" and your black accents and glass with that riser wood sounds like a good combo to me

Thanks , maybe Kirk can give a sneak preview.
I have a coulple bare shafts ready for testing when  the "Ugly Duckling" grows up.If all goes well I will be hunting with it right after Easter, going to see if I can make some bacon out in Oklahoma.

Zradix

We are a funny bunch, the three of us seem to have every extremity covered:
- Wood/aluminum/carbon arrows
- Short/medium/long draw
- One piece/take downs
- Short/medium/long lengths
Crazy that we all ordered the "same bow" to cover all our different needs!

Those longer wedges look SWEET! Black walnut? Glad to see you getting pics before the black glass goes on these!

As for me, looks like I'll need a recurve case with those crazy curves in my limbs!!

Tomorrow I'm on the road all day, gonna be tough not being able to check back here!
Thom

**DONOTDELETE**

Well you've already seen the video slinging bow snot on Thom's limbs. So here's one putting your second limb in the form Pete.

you guys are NOT going to believe this, but i'm going to have to walk through SNOW to get back out to the shop tonight to pop this limb out of the form.

it rarely snows at all here in mid winter... but March 21st????     :dunno:

here's another little piece of the puzzle...

Ok John.... i know ya gotta be feeling left out here, so i got a few pics here for you now...   :p

Zoom in on your lams after i ran em through the sander...I got these down to 18 thousandths in thickness to eliminate the weight and keep your horse power right up there. The ultra light walnut core is going to turn up the heat a touch too.   :readit:

Btw.... Pete, that black power lam in tour limbs is Wenge. It turns coal black when finished and will tie into your black accents....

"Ugly Duckling" my arse mate! This thing is going to rock!

Tomorrow we'll see about stuffing all those parts & pieces in this form and see what happens.

I couldn't help myself, I had to check in before taking off this morning and I'm glad I did. Another amazingly cool video and some great pics!

Hey Kirk I cant wait to see the end product,we all know how the "UD" story ends.
  :bigsmyl:
right at the end of the vid my question was answered it cooks for 40 minutes the heat must reall kick up the curing time.
The colors and grain patterns on Johh and  Thoms bows  are going to be fantastic all those decisions will be worth it.
"Never to old to learn something new"

WOW!

The bloodwood power lam is a GREAT idea man!
...racing stripes!

It's amazing to me that you can get 4 strips of flat grain, relatively porous wood of that size down to .018"...I mean I just measured a small exacto blade..the same thickness..

Cool idea with the hinge system...always be on the look out for a better way...looks like you found one!
