I love Silvertips, but most are very bland in appearance to say the least. This is one of two of the finest ones i have seen. Congrats David sweet Tip!

David, congrats on the new TIP it turned out AWESOME. Best of luck with your disk

That is a beautiful piece of work.  Congrats!

Ask your doctor about an Inversion table. I've had herniated disks for years now and have avoided  surgery using one of these things. Between acupuncture, and stretching things out when it gets bad, it's flat out incredible how much relief you get once you get the blood flowing in the right places. Kirk

It is amazing how far the craftmenship has come in the last 25 years.  Some of these bowyers today are real artists.  I just wish this kind of detail wasn't so darn expensive, but bowyers need to make a living like everyone else.

I'm usually not a big fan of "reddish" colored woods in my bows....but I tell ya what....that sucker's awesome!!!!

A real work of art    :clapper:

Many thanks everyone. As far as my back...no sweat. I've dealt with much worse, so I'll be fine in no time.  I've got to shoot this thing right?
I wish I had the skill to make one. You guys are right, the bowyers of today are highly talented. I used to think the target bowyers of the 60's and early 70's were tops on craftmanship...but not anymore. These guys today are of an era that will go down in history.
I sat on that cocobolo for over 8 years, I'm really happy with it. I got the yew from Idahocurt here on tradgang, and a couple of extra figured bocote too, which I'll have done up later. The skins are from two wild caught okeetee corn snakes that only come from the Okeetee region of Florida. I have a lot of snake connections and finally had a guy catch a couple for me. I skinned and dried them and sent to Dave.  I had Dave put them over clear yew to bring out the colors. I knew I was in no condition to skin them myself, so I let the master do this one.  I'll get some better pics in a bit, the ones I took were kinda dark. I'm trying to build the antler bolts now, but going into my garage totally is killing me. So far I cleaned, and restained the antler to bring back its original color. Drilling and epoxying might be pushing it for now....but I'm gonna try!
