If you film me it'll be a horrific comedy....you'll need a disclaimer against tort for anyone that views it.

Still looking to carpool down if anyone can help. Otherwise I'll likely have to fly and I'll end up spending more money and having to travel super light in that case....

Ocmulgee is where the campground is located. Oaky Woods is on the west side of the river across from Ocmulgee.

You have the correct dates.

Is any driving down from up north that Rossco7002 can carpool with?

Rossco7002-
Check with Rob D. the moderator, he mentioned that he may come down to the hunt.

Darren,
I've got health issue in my family that has come up recently and I will not be able to make the Hill hog hunt(a.k.a. HHH) in Feb 22-24.
I'm really disappointed and hope all who can make it will have a great time!

I feel terrible about it, but health issues have also made it impossible for me to this hunt, as well.

Guy's I know that things come in life so I'm going to try to capture as much of the hunt as possible to share with everyone.

Just thought id throw a question out there. I myself being barnyard Bluegrass picker will be packing some tools of the trade, and was wondering if anyone else might be interested in picking a little campfire music?

Darren,

Did you have any ideas towards name tags?  If we do have a big turnout, it might be easier for everyone to learn and remember names if we all wear some sort of name tag.  Typical business convention style stickers probably won't work well outdoors.  Maybe we can all fashion our own permamnent name tag of some sort with our Trad Gang handle and our real name below it.  What do you think?

If you're being serious, I would say if all 85 to 90 guys show up, those name badges might be a good idea because I can remember a face forever but I'm terrible with remembering names.

I've been known to wear a shirt with my name on it because the name Darren is so uncommon, I often get folks calling me Don, Dewayne, Darryl.     :dunno:

Who's using Hill broadheads, how do they fly, sharpen, and are they tuff? I always use Magnus but thinking about changing for the hunt.

The 160 grain HH broadheads on the raffle arrows I won fly great, and I've been practciing with them exclusively leading up to the hunt.  I haven't tackled trying to sharpen them yet, but I can tell it is going to take a lot more work than I'm use to with other broadheads I've used.  There isn't much of an edge to start with at all on the HHs.

A friend of mine from Georgia sent me the January issue of Georgia Outdoor News.  It features hog hunting, and has specific tips for hunting hogs on WMAs.  As someone who is not from the area, I found the article very helpful:   http://www.gon.com/page.php?sp=currentissue

Hawken this is how I sharpen my Hills.http://www.3riversarchery.com/images/misc/SharpeningHowardHillHeads.jpg
It works great for me and makes a nasty edge that will destroy rubberbands and cut the heck out of my finger nail.  Just haven't had a critter stand in front of one yet.

Sorry Rossco, you're a bit north.  However, if you can make it to the DC area and spend the night, you can carpool the rest of the way.  Might not be what you were hoping for though...

I can hardly wait.  This is gonna be good....
