I have a PMA V 64"AMO 51# at 30 3/4" I have a 8 strand padded loop string with 2 wool puffs. My arrows are 31" and weigh 470gr. At a 28" draw the bow is quite as a church mouse, but at my 30 3/4" draw it's noisy. Anyone else with a long draw have this problem? Need help!!!
Thanks, James

Yes!

I draw a recurve between 31-32" depending on grip design. I have a heck of a time getting a recurve as quiet as I find acceptable.

Maybe I am too picky?

I can think of three recurves that I have been able to really get quiet.

Bruin recurves using a B-50 string. John McDonald Big River bows with a B-50 string and the RER static tip recurves with a FF string.

With your current bow I would start by getting your arrow weight up to about 11 gpp. Make sure they are properly tuned, experiment with increasing your brace height. Finally try a B-50 string.

Good luck.

Add some arrow weight, move your puffs, add some wraps around your loops, check your brace height and your nock position.

At 28" you are shooting 11+ gpp and at full draw you are down to 9 that is a lot to tune without a heavier arrow.

I think I have come up with something I can live with. Brace 9 1/4" 4 wool puffs at 10" and 14" from loop end and velcro 3" long in string grove. I still need to shoot it in front of someone. Thanks for all your help

Yep, Owlbait covered the bases.  I'm guessing the arrow weight is the biggest issue and you'll be amazed at what a heavier one will do for you.
