You're deadly!Nice going on the double.

Great job and it wasn't long. Too short in my opinion for this time of year. I would be interested in knowing where you hit the doe if you don't mind elaborating. Do you think the big treeshark helped you in that hit?

thanks guys,

tj, yes i think the tree shark helped me on this one, since i was shortdrawn i was probobly only in the upper 40's for draw weight on that shot.  the arrow entered just in front of the ham, sliced a little of the meat that flanks the front of the ham and cut one of the inner loins in half then went through where the liver connects to the blood supply(thats where she bled from) then through the diaphram and poked through the opposite side ribs(the broadhead was running sideways to the ribs or i think it would have came all the way through) after seejng the shot i was really happy to find her after a somewhat short trail. it was three hours later that i started followjng her trail, and she was pretty cool when i found her,so im guessing she was dead within thirty minutes.

this is the yearling.
wish i would have taken better pics of the big doe.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Great hunt...and a double!  Awesome!  Plenty of meat for the freezer.  I am going to make a batch of deer meatballs this weekend.  I'm fresh off a nice pot of deer stew from last weekend!

Nice job! If you killed those deer on that "island" you told me about in another post you are a "Warrior".

Just the dedication walking in that place and hauling deer out is AWESOME!
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Man its hard not to get busted in thise leafless trees.  Great job making it happen in tough circumstances!  Thanks for sharing.
