Ok, that's got my curiosity going. Looking forward to see pics of this one... [/b]
I'll wait until it gets here..."special" in that it will look different from all others than I have seen on here. Can't wait to see how it turns out and it will look great in the woods of Michigan (and hopefully other states)!

My wife calls me "special"...but I'm not sure how to take that!   :biglaugh:

Russ...did you do the leather yourself?  I'd like to get that added to my current and future Kanati.

Yup. It's goat skin. It's thin and pretty tough but not as stretchy as deer skin. Deer would probably be easier to work around the throat of a Kanati. It was kind of a pain, but now that it's done I like it.

The only thing I'd change about my Kanati is the riser material. Had I known how cold dymondwood was going to be, I'd have had Jason use actionwood. The leather really seems to help though, so maybe it's no longer going to matter. I kind of like the way it looks too.

Russ...thanks for the info!  We have several furniture manufactures up here and we can get premium scrap leather relatively cheap.  Going to give it a try.

Here are pics of mine...sorry not the greatest pictures.
60" 57 @ 29" and smooth as butter!

Hope all is well!

Sweet bows everyone. I think my next one will sport black glass. The bocote JK posted awhile back was awesome also.

Dymondwood is more resin (plastic) than wood vs. actionwood which is more wood than resin. Dymondwood is more dense, so if you like a little more mass that's the way to go. I find that without the leather wrap, dymondwood gets a lot colder than wood or actionwood, so I have to either hold my bow all the time or hang it on a bow hanger then hope I get a shot pretty quickly after I grab it. My hand gets cold even when wearing gloves if the riser has cooled off. The thin layer of leather helps more than I would have expected though, so I'm good!

Since I've been on BP medicine, my hands and feet get cold easier though, so your mileage may vary.
