If I set the Target up in the Utility room and go to the bedroom down the other end of the house I can get a good 35 yard shot but got shoot over the dining table and miss the couch and not hit any door jambs....Just make certain the wife and kids are out of the house and you have a bag of 20 drywall quickmix and have hole repaired before she gets home!  "[dntthnk]"  Just joking with ya but I can get about a 6 yard shot in my workshop or a about a 12/14 yard from the garage into my workshop shooting with the door open of coarse...  :D

basement i have 18 yards with 10 foot ceiling

Yep, I shoot in the garage. Have a 12 yard shot set up. It's nice to be able to shoot anytime, any weather day or night. If I didn't have the garage I would only be able to shoot on the weekends in the winter time (due to the dark). When its nice I always opt for the outside range in the back yard though.

I like my solution; I will be snowbirding in Arizona in 2 weeks, and not only will I be shooting outdoors, but most of the time in shorts and a tee shirt. The older I get, the less I like dealing with snow.

Basement, in morning before hunting I like to shoot a few perfect shots.  At night right before bed a few focused shots and sometimes when I get up in middle of night to pee I'll shoot a few arrows.   It helps simulate sitting on a cold stand all day then having to "make the shot".

It's the best thing I ever did I can get 15 yds

I got one of those huge foam blocks and use that as my back stop

I shoot inside my apartment. Can get about 9 yds if I really stretch it.

I'm a little jealous. I don't have a garage or basement. If it snows I just go out i the snow to shoot.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Shoot in my garage every nite, can shoot up to 25 yards. It is great just remember to get outside when you can, if your a hunter that is . If you shoot inside all the time it will effect your treestand and uphill ,downhill shots drastically. Shootin inside on the level surface is fun,dry and warm when the weather outsideis bad.

my basement is where I learned to shoot trad, made the switch from my wheel bow last year. The 10 yard max distance was perfect. I will be back down there this year when it gets to cold to shoot outside.

I shoot all winter.  I manage a fastener distribution company and have a 20,000 square foot warehouse.  Long isles make for a lot of fun.  However, explaining the small round holes in the roll up doors to the building owner was a little touchy!  :dunno:

Basement, but I get 8-10 yards. At that distance I only need a small bag to shoot at. I shoot off of a stool sometimes or try to hit really small stuff to keep it interesting.
I do the exact same thing. I'll put a small sticky note on the bag and shoot at that, move it and shoot again. Keeps me sharp and lets me really focus on form. I have found that when my focus is sharp and form is right I can then go out easily to greater distances with no problems.

I remember reading a post from a guy who used to shoot in the house! If I remember right he shot through the kitchen down the hallway to the target. This all ended when he had a flyer hit the blender in the kitchen...while his wife was gone! All was ok until that summer when she was looking for the blender to make some margaritas!
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

I shoot inside my house sometimes, but it distracts my wife watching TV as the arrows go by.I get about 10 yrds from inside the garage throught the living room into the bed room.

**DONOTDELETE**

only shoot out now since I moved to Tejas. If I'm going to hunt outside, I need to shoot outside in all types of weather that I'll be hunting in.

My Kids grew up thinking that everyone had a range in the basment/cellar, archery and BB/Pellet. Got a sign at the top of the stairs for Clear or Shootn. Basment range was huge in learning to shoot the fun way, when I went back to the recurve.

I knew a guy who had target backing on the entire back wall of his garage.  Had a slide projector attached to the ceiling and projected animal pics on the backing.  When summer came he shot from the driveway for more distance.

No room in my garage or basement.  :(    Shoot from the back yard to alongside the house.  There is 14 inches of snow there now!  If you do this, don't park an aluminum boat behind your target butt!  :knothead:
