Do any of you fellow Tradgangers know anything about this wool ? Anyone own any of it ? I'd like some more info and feedback if anyone has anything. Thanks for any help or info.

Back in the 1990's Cook and Laurie Schiavone travelled with Harold Hays and I to numerous SCI, FNAWS, and TTH shows with their wool.  I worked for Harold who was the U.S. importer of the Blaser rifle before SigArms purchased the company.  We were also a dealer for Autumnwoods Wool at the time and sold quite a bit of it.

Cook's wool is top drawer clothing from someone who has been in the clothing industry for about 30 years....'cept for a brief stint in the NFL.  The vertical pattern is great, and I still scratch my head as to why some of the other wool manufacturer's go horizontal.  Cook's clothing has seen lots of hunting action around the world, and he stands behind it as well as anyone can stand behind a product.

I have the jacket and pants in winter camo.  The wool is heavier than anything else around. Jacket has a nylon liner.  I believe they call it versatech, but it looks like ripstop nylon to me.  As such, it blocks the wind nicely, but makes just a tad bit of noise, which can be quieted with a wool shirt underneath.  Never spooked a deer because of clothing noise.  I save my Autumnwood stuff for the coldest weather I'm likely to face -- about minus 10 to 30 degrees above.  It's excellent stuff.  Pants are numerically sized.  The parkas are letter sized, i.e. small, medium, large, etc.  The tops run big.  I wear an XL in other high end wool, but a large in Autumnwood, and it's still bigger than the XLs in other brands.

The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.
