Izzy, what was your set up?

I used a 150 grain Zephyr Sasquatch on a douglas fir from my trusty Shrew, "Five-O". Those Sasquatch are 1 9/16" wide. They really go to work.

sorry for the weird posts. My phone has a mind of its own.

Glad to see you guys got into them!

I, on the other hand, have been just watching the show.....from a slight distance away.  Everything just of out of range......or in the case of one old girl......I must be sitting in her favorite treestand to look at!

Jamie.....that made the trip to Westchester worth it, huh!  Greg is probably the best guide in the county!!!

Well done folks!  Gotta go for now.....back out for an all day sit....thankfully the wind has died down.

Congrats fellas nice deer!!  Jamie I now its been a little bit of a bumpy road for ya this year, makes this buck real special.
Izzy those old flatties can be fun one day and a thorn the next.  Let us know what you find with that antler. Joe

Joe, you ain't lying bout those old gals. I really am in awe of their instincts and wariness. still, I like the challenge of trying to kill her. she's big with short little ears like I've seen in pics of those Saskatchewan deer. I would recognise her from a hundred yards.  wewe have let Doe pass there for a couple of years after a bit of over harvest. Its paid off as we are seeing more deer but she is fair game. I don't mind getting my but schooled by her though. It will make her that much tastier if I ever win a match again her.

JoeM

Izzy I have a doe that I have tried to kill for a few years and saw her again yesterday.  She has busted me three times before yesterday.  She has  coarse looking hair on her head not slick like the others and for the third year has twins. I thought I had her yesterday as she was being pushed and I thought would be a little less alert.  Well at 6yds she caught wind and turned inside out.   She will get an arrow if the opportunity comes even during the rut. Oh Yeah shes big!!  Joe

I have an 86 year old friend that likes his deer small because he only has the freezer over his fridge. I try to shoot him one every year. I shot him this button buck this morning, Howard Hill Big Five wood arrow and a Howard Hill head.
