My pal Scott Henry was swept away by a motorist while walking his dog - they went together. I had this bow roughed out for some time and finished it yesterday morning. 65# @ 28 58" NTN osage footed with walnut at the tips. I don't generally paint bows but this motif came to me during sweat ceremony memorial service. The tiller reminded me of Scotts grin and so it was named "Scotty's smile". I hope to remember his open heart and spiritual inspiration each time this bow comes to hand.

The buck passed me 3 times before offering a shot and then it was quartering slightly to me - so I turned in the stand and  let him pass on the trail. He caught a wind swirl when he reached a good shot angle and bolted as I released - missing just low. I nocked another arrow and waited. He came back and walked broadside through the same spot and took my arrow. Sure felt like he wanted to join the celebration of Scott's life.

A pair of mature bald eagles flew over at treetop level as I walked home - calling and swerving over the scene. The best hunts are even better when the spirit energy is present.

RIP Scott Ray Henry and his faithful companion Hank. A pair of true peaceful warriors.
