Really in the market for one of these. I need "the Good" "The Bad" and "The Ugly" Nuthin that will break the bank.

I am guessing the MOAB or Thunderstick III from Thunderstick Archery would fill the bill. Use the search feature here and you will find alot of information on the MOAB and many, many others. Good Luck-Mike

Raging Water

Nate Steele at BamaBows makes an awesome RD bow. The Expedition.

I have one and it is a rocket launcher. Very easy to control and shoots a variety of spined arrows.

Love it.

Lost Creek bows are real nice, shoot great and not to hard on the wallet...

I have the LC Judge and it's a sweet shooter!

Add a few more, take a look at the Robertson Stykbow Hybrid and Fatal Styk, Big Jim's has two, and Pronghorn Custom Bows.

The upside is if you can shoot one, your ahead, if you can't, it is hard to know what your missing.  :archer2:

If you want a short bow, I go with a Thunderstick Mag.  They go down to 56".  Or, if you don't mind a little longer, I'd go with a MOAB.

Over&Under

I would take a look at Holm-made, Hoots, Dwyer, Thunderstick, Black Creek, Striker, JK traditions just to name a few that make a heck of nice Hybrid that won't break the bank.  Check out all the TG sponsers and you will find lots to choose from.

The list is long in this catagory...lots to choose from.  Try as many as you can get your hands on so you can feel what you like personally.

I bought a Kanati used on here, and I'm very very pleased with it. My friend's Treadway black swamp is the only bow I'd be equally happy with. Both bowyers are more than willing to go out of their way for you. I've spoken personally to both of them. The hybrids realy are the way to go in my book..

the best answer is Try Before You Buy.

other than that, welcome to "bow gamblers anonymous" - yer just getting opinions of others that will have little to no meaning until you wrap yer bow hand and string fingers around the bow in question - good luck!     :wavey:

You've GOT to try before you buy. With this style, like most others, it's all about feel and grip - totally subjective. The ones that really worked for me were Big Jim's, Dwyer, Hoot's and Kanati with the nod probably going to Dwyer. Haven't shot a Maddog but heard nothing but good about them.

IMHO, how could you go wrong w/any? Really good looking functional rocket launchers. Favor Morrison Dakota, Bama Bow (setting the woods on fire w/quality & price), & Centaur. Haven't seen much re Craig's Hill R/D bow but I always like thinner & deeper cross-sections. 2nd trynbuy. Like to see your choice & full shoot report. Good luck.

Give Bob Sarrels (he's a Texas boy and a sponsor here)a call about his BlackHills II, I have a couple and can recommend them highly if you want a one piece, or his Blueridge take down if you want a three piece.. I just ordered a Blueridge short riser 60" for myself yesterday.. super nice bow..

Being a Hill shooter only, not so familiar w/other makes/models. Didn't know Bob (Sarrels) made r/d bows but have spoken w/him several times to compliment his excellent work & customer service. Very fine Christian man I'd highly recommend also. Guess Maddog Mike Mecredy makes r/d too? Just a big bunch of quality choices.

Another vote for the BamaBows Expedition. This is the Hunter model.
