Welcome! I live around Corpus Christi and was a die hard traditional bowhunter for years who is once again returning to the fold with a vengance. This is a great place to learn and share. A real community.

You are day late & a $1.00 short. I just spent 1.5 years in El Paso working but am gone now. I saw lots and lots of quail outside of town all over the place, and deer crossing signs but never saw a deer. I know it's Javelin country, check around for day leases in the area.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

Welcome.  I was stationed in El Paso at Ft. Bliss and also at White Sands Missle Range 20+ yrs ago.  There are some awesome hunting opportunities available in the area, you just need to seek them out.

I am near La Luz, which is near Alamogordo, which is 80 miles from El Paso.  And I do have several bows you are welcome to try.  This is a great time to visit the Cloudcroft area and see the aspen in their prime- probably the last weekend before the leaves are mostly gone.  Cloudcroft is a real pretty mountain place that if you haven't visited you will want to.  PM me if you would like to look at bows or talk bowhunting.  Steve

I spent several years as an Army brat at Bliss a few years ago (1950s), and the desert off Fred Wilson road was where I terrorized numerous lizards and jackrabbits with my fiberglass longbow. Where I used to hunt as a kid is now the middle of town, but I still have a soft spot for the area.
Welcome to the forum; lots of good information here.
