feather cover..

Went out hunting today even though it rained really bad..... Got within 40yards of 3 deer but no luck....But anyway... Now to the question...

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the best arrow feather cover? Im looking for 1 that I can hunt with... not for storage...I have my quiver bow mounted

Try some baby bottle liners on each individual arrow.  Easy on, easy off and they're reusable.

I guess I'm gonna get one myself, this is what I happen to have in the truck the other morning when it started to rain: grocery bag and a clothes pin!

A friends wife made a fleece drawcord bag that I cover my fletching with and I'll add a sandwich bag inside to cover fletching when its raining.

Not to be a smart a** but I shoot wet feathers.

When I shoot at an animal the arrow has usually been on the string without any protection so I did a practice session in the rain with my arrows soaked just to see if there was a difference at 20yards. None.

That said, I don't shoot animals in the rain due to the obvious blood trail problems but I don't fret wet feathers. They dry fast when the rain stops.

Find a bag or a bread wrapper that doesn't rattle when it moves and doesn't have a lot of shine. fold it up and keep it in a breast pocket of your hunting jacket with a good rubber band around it. If you get caught in the rain, just cover the fletching and use the rubber band around the arrows to secure the bag. With a little practice, you can get the arrows out too, with out a lot of trouble.
