Gotcha... no I didn't poach 2 deer...where'd I find a 10 pter in PA anyway??  :)

No, instead, I got to finally meet and have lunch with Doug and Karen Campbell in their latest trip East as they're on their return loop toward home.

For a couple of years over their periodic trips East, we'd planned this rendevous, but something always interferred on one side or the other.

Today, it happened.

What an incredible couple! They are both sterling 10's so that is my title of "bagging two 10 pointers today!"  :biglaugh:

Meeting Doug and Karen was better than any hunting success I've ever had!  I consider myself double blessed on the end of a tough week.

Prayers for safe travels till they get home and settled!

That is a great "Harvest", Dave, and I'm sure it WAS better than any other you've ever had. Good on ya, my friend. That should keep ya glowing for days (or more) -   :clapper:

I think that's great. Doug and Karen have been my close buddies for a few years now. They stayed at my house on their way through Illinois last week.
If they come any better than those two, it's in the next life.

I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I had the pleasure of meeting Doug a few years ago at JLMBH. One of the best experiences thusfar in my traditional journey...
Actually, now that I think about it, I owe him some local rock.

No, Larry!    :D   They got broiled, not poached!

They said they enjoyed the "broiled"   :)  crab cakes at this local establishment near my work since there aren't a lot of good seafood eateries in MT!   :jumper:

I find it so intriguing that people I never have met, just corresponded with over time, or talked to on the phone a few, then you meet them and it's like you've known them forever!

I hit a rough week this week and Friday was a stinker of a day, but meeting and spending a brief couple hours with that pair has me still smiling!

After lunch, they wanted to run over to see what Hershey, PA was all about. I knew how to start them off and the GPS took them there...unknown to me, there was a HUGE car show there...and they hit some big time snarls!

But in true Campbell spirit, when I called to see how they faired, Karen just reported it was pretty crowded and they got some stuff at the Chocolate Store and wound their way back to the turnpike and were headed to Indy!   :)

Prayers continue for a safe journey in that li'l ole black Prious!

Good for you Doc, 10pt's & more.
Only down side to getting a visit with those two is when they leave.

Doc Nock

yeah Robin...there was that "instant withdrawal" coupled with having to go back to work!  :)

But it was worth it. I'd rather have small doses of such good folks than none at all!

They truly are emmisaries of good will as they share their smiles with so many as they travel back and forth! I feel blessed!

Yup, Doug is the best!! He called an invited me to dinner as well!! Prior bird hunting foray was plannd and I could not make it!! Very bummed, even changed the date to Thursday and Curt and his family was going to meet with Doug and Karen for dinner, I could not make it as Cindy is in nursing school and I had to help her cram for a test. Hopefully we can hook up soon!! Great company and great stories for sure! Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves!! Shawn
