I do have a few first aid things that didn't make it to the list.  Superglue is one of them.  I will definitely take lots of pics.

Here we go! John & I are on the road & I'm supposed to be sleeping while he is driving, but the excitement & anticipation have taken over.

Elk beware!

Friday, 9/2/11, Day One:  After 18 hours on the road with a couple stops for last minute supplies, we got to the trailhead at about 8500 feet.  I usually get a couple days to acclimate but that was not to be this time.  I took some gingko biloba that is supposed to ward off elevation issues.  We'll see.

Darren and I finished stowing the last of our items in our packs and hit the trail to get back in a couple miles on a stream we thought might be a good place to start.  The first couple days were to be a scouting effort aimed at covering some ground that Darren hadn't been able to fully explore last year.  The pack in was uneventfull except we mispolaced our stream and for a while thought we might not have water to camp near.  We finally got our heads on straight and set up camp with great anticipation for the next day.
