Point weights, threaded weights for carbons, bullets of the right diameter, cast weights of the right diameter. The options are endless with Al since inserts remove so easily.

Since I shoot aluminum arrows, I increase point weight by using 11/32", 5 grain brass weight washers. I buy them from 3 Rivers Archery.

Some time back there was an interesting thread where someone had detailed how they filled the inside of aluminum shafts with foam by slowing pushing the shaft less insert into a block of foam. Supposedly added weight and quieted the arrow down considerably. Never tried it but it sounded like a good idea.

I have used rope in the past. It makes for a heavy and quiet shaft. I got the idea from an article in "Traditional Bowhunter" magazine. The aluminum "ping" is almost totally gone, but the shaft really looses velocity. Out to say 20 yards the velocity loss is not to bad...but past that it drops like a rock.

I've never had any "good luck" with anything inside an aluminum shaft to add mass weight. I just cut the shaft as short as can be and add weight to the point... With a 27" 2016 using 200gr broadhead, I have an arrow weight of 540gr, respectivly.

I have a friend who shoots alluminum and he puts foam inside his arrows (don't use the really dense stuff as it does add to much weight). His arrows are just a bit heavier and they are much quieter.
