I have a Bob Lee signature take down recurve. What is the best strap on quiver for it? I am considering a Big Jim's. Also considering ordering one of his bows.

Big Jim's is good. So is the Kanati Pro.
58" JK Traditions Kanati Longbow
Ten Strand D10 String
Kanati Bow Quiver
35/55 Gold Tip Pink Nugents @ 30"
3 X 5" Feathers
19.9% FOC
49# @ 26.75"
165 FPS @ 10.4 GPP (510 gr. hunting arrow)
171 FPS @ 9.7 GPP (475 gr. 3D arrow)
3 Fingers Under

I love my Great Northern. My next quiver will be one of Big Jims to compare.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

Funny...all three of my favorites have been mentioned already. The great northern and the big jim quivers are both excellent and are probably the best value, but I wish they were angled so the feathers didn't stick out in front of the bow. The kanati is a bit more expensive, but it is very nice and I like the angled option where we can have the feathers more reward. I recently ordered one the new angled slim jim kanati strap on quivers, but it hasn't arrived yet. It will have some "custom" sting ray leather to match the string ray grip on one of my bows.
Until next time...good shooting,
Lee

I am getting the new Selway Rawhide 4 arrow strap-on mini. I'll let you know what I think of it this week.

What? Better there than in way of string travel, right?

Not a problem for me. I did remove the metal plate under the foam insert on my Great Northern to lower it into the leather pocket deeper. That is a piece thats not really necessary.

Cherokee Slim aka Ed Burgess makes the coolest detachable quiver, in my opinion.

I have the Slim Jim and also have a Pro on the way.  I like the way they strap and unstrap to the bow...quick and solid.  You will not have to worry about it being loose or vibrating when shooting. Also, customer service is exceptional.  John makes sure you are completely satisfied with his products.

Kentucky Jeff

Nothing else to compare it to but I have a Eagle Flight Archery quiver and its very light and doesn't move on my longbow.  Also, the quality is top notch.

59Alaskan

I like my Eagle's Flight Archery as well.  Same reasons Jeff states except I primarily use recurves.

Both, The Great Northern and the Barta 6 arrow work well for me. I like having a couple of field points/Judo with me when hunting.

Eagles Flight, 4 arrow mini...arrows can be "set back" or aligned with lower limb, its lighter than other minis, and very solid on bow,no movement at the shot. Check em out, you will not be disappointed.

Another vote for the eagles flight! I just got my first a couple weeks ago and love it! had to order another one for my recurve!  Had the big bulky selway, and a mini boa both very nice but the efa quivers are awesome, light weight, soild straping and very sharp looking!

Any more info on these? Got a link or a picture? Thanks!

I'm sure you can do a search here for his quivers.
Mine is currently with Ed Scott of Owl Bows, getting a custom "Owl" paint job.   :)

Either way, they don't interfere with the string. It is just the backset feathers on the angled option allows for more clearance from objects in front of you when you shoot...such as a tree or bush.

Straight...

angled...

Until next time...good shooting,

It is best for many of the shorter bows to have a setback option. It keeps back more in line with the string and prevents the arrow nocks from digging into the dirt. We call our (EFA) setback feature the "wing" option. I have included a couple of photos showing two quivers with the "wing" One of them is of a Shrew quiver that we make for Ron LaClair. Don't you love that logo of his?

Another vote for EFA.  Love the functionality, but really love the craftsmanship and options!

I've used both the Great Northern(5 arrow, fixed longbow) and Kanati(4-arrow).  Although both are good, I have to go with the Kanati.  It seemed more balanced and aesthetically pleasing.

Truthfully both work well, it just boils down to personal preference.
I enjoy being a traditional archer!!
