I've shot about everything in my compound days. Since switching over I've shot legacy's, trad only, and heritage 150. The heritage is by far the toughest imo. Just got some GT 55/75's from Jim. Going to put GT 100gr. inserts in. What do you guys recommend to foot them with?
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

I like goldtips, price and durability. I foot my 55/75's with a 1 1/2" piece of 2216. When stump shooting they take a whuppin'.

Thanks Running Buck. I will see if I have any old aluminums in that size.

MFX v Axis.  Same diameter (well not exactly but very very close).  MFX is heavier GPI because it's got the wood grain or other camo coating.  Anyone know what aluminum will foot the axis 600?  1916's are a little sloppy on it.

Looks like I'll be able to put this one to bed.
It says right here on the side of my Gold Tip XT Hunter: "THE TOUGHEST ARROW YOU'LL EVER SHOOT."
Now how can they say that if it isn't true?

I'm just happy to be here!

Beman MFX, only thing I shoot now.  :archer2:

i use gold tips and the only time they break is when i hit rocks  but the are pretty tough

I shoot gold tip trads 55/75 and have them footed with a 1 inch 2216 alum. so far they hold up great! I had bought grizzly stik arrows a couple years ago and hated them, so i set them up as my all around stump ect arrow was acctually trying to totally destroy them, rocks instead of stumps ect and they are still going strong, had to glue the nocks in so as to keep from losing them, i even shot into a stainless steel drum with these and they held up to that!!!

Radial X weaves are the strongest I have ever shot.

out of the pack I think Carbon Express are in my experence the most durable and tough arrow. the heritage is the best arrow shaft I have used ,, if you have to foot an arrow to make it tough means its a little week to start with

The most durable for me are the AD Hammerhead Trads with aluminum collars, brass inserts, unibushings and g-nocks. I have never broken one from shooting, but any arrow can break when sticking out the side of a big, live animal.

Wow, seems like the old Beman hunters without the outserts. I could see those becoming pretty popular in months to come...

I foot my Beman MFX Classics..........nobody said I "have" to.

But, it don't mean they're weak just because I choose to add a couple of inches of 2020 aluminum shafting to the business end. I would do that to any carbon arrow regardless of what make it is. It's added insurance just in case I hit a rock or something.
