Have never been to a traditional shoot. What kind of yardage should I be looking for my comfort range max is 25yds.

Werewolf

you should be good at 25..thats a longer shot at most shoots ive been to.

There might be a couple over that but not by much and they'll be really BIG animals (elk, moose, bison).  That is my "comfort range" as well.  All shots at Cloverdale seem to have a nice backstop behind them of some sort--creek bed bank, etc.  Best shot set ups you'll ever find are at Cloverdale.  Every shot is a scene of some sort with multiple animals for effect.  I love it....my favorite shoot of all of them.

You will be fine. It's my favorite course to shoot.

You do not have to shoot from the stake. If it is to far step up a few steps.Just dont keep score or mark no score on your card.IT is a competition shoot so be sure to mark your card NO SCORE if you choose to not shoot from the stake.
Cloverdale is a great shoot and it would be a shame to miss it.

The targets are usually setup with a natural backstop so you won't lose arrows or spend a lot of time looking for lost ones. Best course ever!

Make the trip.  Cloverdale is an awesome good time.  I've been going for about 18 yrs now.

Look up our camp and join us for "Meatfest" on Sat night.  Look for about 50 guys standing around eating grilled/barbequed meat.

No veggies allowed.

Looks like we are just going for the day thanks for the invite though.

I shoot 12.1 gpp. Twenty-five yards at 3D's has been fine. However, twenty-five yards is virtually my max with this set-up and my hi anchor. When I drop out at 25 yards distancs, it can be directly related to poor shot execution.

Fully commit to the shot, believe in your bow arm and self, complete full shot execution and remain totally immersed within the shot unil the arrow hits its mark. You should be pleased with the results.

I'm planning on making it to this shoot on the last day, Sunday. It will be my first time going and I am really looking forward to it.

Okay Bill, thanks for the heads up man. I might have to head up there earlier than planned. It's over 3 hour's drive from here.

Definitely agree with Bill....if Sunday is the only day you can go, get there early and hit the vendors ASAP.  Things die down pretty fast on Sunday from my past experience.
