Todd, thanks for the mention.

Mike, I do have a red stain but I also just picked up a red powdered stain for experimenting with and it is brighter than the alcohol based stain I sell.  Still experimenting but it might be what you are looking for.  I will be at the MBH banquet Saturday and Royal Oak Archers next weekend.  If Jo Ann Fabrics doesn't have your answer, see me.

I stained some shafts tonight with my mix of red Rit dye and 91% rubbing alcohol.  I did 6 coats, and I'm literally impressed.  Thank you to all of you who shared info for all of us wanting to try new ways.

When I made custom arrows I did a lot of crown dipping with Rit dye dissolved in alcohol. Works great and the red comes out really nice.

ok im trying sunshine orange on a broken fluflu cajun shaft and so far 4 coats rit dye/91%. its going to come out fine maybe 3 more coats. im going to find poly wipe and give it a try see how it looks before i do my first 6 arrows. hey does all the dye disolve. my bottle has some grit in the bottom. its a 16oz bottle i shake it up lil grit right to the bottom normal for rit/91%

Rit dye is meant to be dissolved in water. When we mix it with denatured alcohol there is always a component of the dye that does not dissolve.
