So I received some new strings today in the mail and first thing I notice is the small loop on bottom instead of top on all four strings? I tried putting them on as per normal or normal for me and with big loop on bottom there is no room for my finger on the serving. I can't see how this will hurt the bow so I'm going to shoot it anyway. Hope it's ok?

BWD

I have always put the big loop on top...thought everyone did.

Yep, big loop on the top. That way you can leave your tip protector on the bottom limb tip and still destring your bow if you want.....Lloyd

Friend

That is how I started doing it in 1969 and still do it that way today.

Big-why are you calling the big loop the bottom?  I just pick the big loop and call it the top and go with it...

Big-way I see it, they guy who told you the big one goes on the bottom is the idiot....    :dunno:    If one of my buddies hadn't of told me..."Hey, the big loop goes on top" when I started I probably would have done the same thing......it's all good.

The only stupid questions Trace are those not asked.  So ask away, if you have any doubts.  We're all stupid and stubborn sometimes  :)  - especially us guys.

Glad it was a simple fix.. We all learn by asking. Nothing to feel stupid about..

The only 'stupid' question is the one not asked.  Folks on this forum are pretty respectful and all recognize they have made mistakes due to lack of experience.  No need to discuss the ones made when we knew better.

Yep, big loop at top so when you unstring the bow (right hander) the big loop will slide down on the top limb easily.
